The 2019 Hyundai iMax and iLoad have been launched in Australia, continuing Hyundai’s product onslaught for 2018. A mid-life update for Hyundai’s top-selling van range, a new variant has been added to the iLoad passenger van, as well as a price cut of up to $3,300 has been applied. There’s also new standard features available across the range, whilst the front end styling has been completely revised for a more modern look.

Mechanically, the 2019 Hyundai iMax and iLoad remain unchanged, with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel fitted across the range – a six-speed manual remains standard on the iLoad, though a five-speed automatic is available as an option and standard on the iMax.

The front end styling of the 2019 Hyundai iMax and iLoad has been given a total refresh for the 2019 model year, with newly shaped headlights replacing the long headlights of the previous model. A slightly longer version of Hyundai’s corporate ‘cascade’ grille also features proudly at the front, whilst the headlights now feature dusk-sensing ability and projector bulbs.

The interior of the iMax and iLoad has also undergone a refresh, with a new 7.0-inch touchscreen taken from the Kona with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard equipment. The steering column now adjusts for both reach and rake, which will make it easier for drivers to find a comfortable driving position. A new instrument cluster design now features, as does a revised cloth trim.

A 125kW/441Nm 2.5-litre turbo diesel matched to a five-speed automatic transmission is standard equipment, as are 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, electric-folding mirrors, front and rear manual air-conditioning, cruise control, a reversing camera and front foglamps.

New for the 2019 model year is the iMax Elite, which is priced from $48,490 plus on-road costs. The Elite adds beige leather trim, heated front seats, a chrome front grille, a ventilated driver’s seat, dual sunroofs and larger 17-inch alloy wheels.
