2019 Lexus UX Australian pricing announced

Lexus Australia has revealed local pricing and specifications for the 2019 Lexus UX ahead of its arrival into dealerships later this month. Priced from $44,450 plus on-road costs, the UX is the brand’s first small SUV and will compete with models such as the Volvo XC40, Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Jaguar E-Pace.

Offered with two drivetrain choices – a 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre petrol hybrid – and both front- and all-wheel drive, Lexus Australia is hoping that the UX continues the brand’s local sales success in the luxury car market.

Lexus chief executive Scott Thompson said the arrival of the UX range with affordable pricing would enable the luxury lifestyle brand to introduce an entirely new customer base to its “experience amazing” commitment.

“The UX delivers a fresh and contemporary appeal to young buyers seeking new and exciting experiences relevant to their lifestyles,” Mr Thompson said.

“For many of them, this will not only be their first Lexus vehicle, but also their first entry into the luxury segment,” he said.

Initially revealed at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the 2019 Lexus UX is the brand’s first small SUV. It’s based on the same platform as the Toyota C-HR, and uses the new ‘Dynamic Force’ 126kW 2.0-litre petrol engine as the new Toyota Corolla. Available optionally is the UX250h 131kW 2.0-litre hybrid variant, which can also be had in all-wheel drive and all models are mated to a CVT automatic transmission, which uses the same launch gear system as the Corolla. The combined fuel economy for the UX250h is rated at just 4.5L/100km.
