Suzuki Swift Sport Red Devil launched

Suzuki Australia has launched 100 units of a limited edition Swift Sport dubbed the Red Devil. Based on the company’s newest version of their popular hot hatch, the Red Devil adds a number of sportier details for customers who are looking for a more outlandish look for their Swift Sport.

The company has also launched driveaway pricing for the regular Swift Sport, with the six-speed manual priced from $27,990 drive away, and the six-speed automatic from $29,990 drive away. The Swift Sport Red Devil will be in dealerships from July, and will be priced from $29,156 drive away.

Announcing the limited edition Red Devil pack alongside new drive away pricing for the Swift Sport Turbo, Suzuki Australia General Manager – Automobile, Michael Pachota said the announcement was a great addition to the hot hatch line-up.

“A true testament to an incredibly hot hatch, the Swift Sport has been a great success since its launch in January this year; owning motoring media reviews and comparisons alike as one of the best bang-for-buck sports hatches in Australia. The Red Devil offers a hot new colour accentuated with an awesome carbon styled decal pack that really brings out the aggressive design cues of the Swift Sport”

Based on the regular Swift Sport, all 100 units of Red Devil are painted in Burning Red, and are also equipped with carbon black decals on the bonnet, C-pillars and front, side and rear bumpers. The Swift Sport Red Devil is otherwise equipped like the Swift Sport, with autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic LED headlights with LED daytime running lights and automatic high beam, 17-inch alloy wheels, sports seats, climate control, a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as keyless entry and start.

The Swift Sport is powered by a 103kW/230Nm 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, with the 0-100km/h sprint claimed at 8.0 seconds, and a combined fuel claim of 6.1L/100km. Rather impressively, the car only weighs 970kg (990kg for the automatic).
