Munich is continuing to roll out new and special editions of its cars, with the BMW 7-Series 40 Jahre revealed overnight, sporting some exclusive trim and colour combinations with inspiration drawn from the original 7-Series.
The 7-Series 40 Jahre will be fully revealed at Frankfurt 2017, and it’s reported that just 200 of them will be produced for worldwide consumption. BMW Australia have confirmed the car for local sale, but the local allocation isn’t expected to be above just five units.
Nothing more than a style-focussed special edition, the 7-Series 40 Jahre is available in just two paint finishes from BMW’s Individual collection: Frozen Silver or Petrol Mica, the latter inspired by the original 7-Series.
Also standard on the 7-Series 40 Jahre is the M Aerodynamics Pack with more aggressive bumpers, high-gloss Shadow Line accents, 20-inch BMW Individual wheels and a 40 Jahre badge on the B-pillar.
Inside the 7-Series 40 Jahre is where the car is differentiated from the standard 7-Series, with BMW Individual Fine Merino leather in combination Smoke White/Cohiba or Smoke White/Black, with Smoke White piping an Alcantara Smoke White roof liner adding extra exclusivity.
BMW will offer the 7-Series 40 Jahre with comfort seats as standard, with a range of different trims available, including piano black, Eucalyptus Smoke Brown wood, with Smoke White cushions also featuring. The floormats are also available in a BMW Individual Smoke White finish with black or brown piping.
BMW Australia is still deciding on local numbers and specifications, but in Europe the 7-Series 40 Jahre will be available in both long and short wheelbase form, with six-cylinder, V8 or V12 powertrains. Like the smaller 5-Series, the 7-Series is the only model within its competitive space that offers Remote 3D View, which allows owners to access images from the car via their smartphone.
Stay tuned to Chasing Cars regarding the 7-Series 40 Jahre and its Australian release date.
