Chery confirms 19 new hybrid models and debuts its new CSH hybrid system

  • Today Chinese carmaker Chery lifted the lid on its new global hybrid technology called the ‘Chery Super Hybrid’ system, or CSH, at an event in its homeland.
  • A so-called “next-generation” application, the unveiled Chery Super Hybrid configuration adopts a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a “hybrid motor speed of 24,000rpm” to achieve a combined output of 280kW.
  • During the event, Chery confirmed that it will introduce 19 new models that will use either conventional series-parallel hybrid (HEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV) or range-extender battery electric (REEV) propulsion.
  • Of these forthcoming 19 hybrids, three have been confirmed as variations of the Tiggo SUV line-up, namely the Tiggo 7, Tiggo 8 and Tiggo 9 hybrids, all of which will be showcased at the upcoming Auto Shanghai 2025 event in the coming weeks.

Updated 2025 Nissan Patrol lands in Australia

  • Nissan Australia has just pulled the covers off the 2025 Patrol, which has been updated across the board.
  • While it is the same Y62-based Patrol we have had in Australia since 2013, Nissan has added additional safety and tech features to keep the V8 4×4 alive.
  • Key updates include an off-road monitor, wireless charger, satellite navigation and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
  • Pricing now starts from $90,600 MSRP for the Ti, $102,100 MSRP for the Ti-L and $105,660 for the Patrol Warrior by Premcar

GMC Yukon ready for 2025 launch with big price increase

  • GMC is geared up for the upcoming local launch of the 2025 Yukon SUV, with the vehicle going on sale in May 2025
  • The full-size SUV is American made, so it goes without saying it will be powered by a V8, and will boast high levels of interior opulence once a local right-hand-drive conversion is undertaken.
  • Sadly, this also means a full-size price tag and price increase over what was announced in November last year, with GMC citing ongoing foreign exchange rate volatility as the main cause for cost increases.
  • Initial reports were the 2025 GMC Yukon would cost $169,990 before on-road costs, yet GMC has now said the Yukon will sting punters $174,990 before on-road costs.

  • The Trailseeker is rumoured to be set for sale in the US, European and Japanese markets, making it a likely chance to be available in Australia post launch in 2026.
  • Details are thin on the ground at the time of publication, however Chasing Cars will endeavor to keep you up to date with more details as they come to light after the New York Auto Show.

Jaguar Classic commits to older vehicles, with new hard parts for E-Types

  • Jaguar Classic has just said it will be supporting owners of their iconic vintage machines, with a renewed focus particularly on their much loved series 1, 2 and 3 E-Type
  • New additions to the range, designed to keep such important pieces of automotive history on the road, include body panels which have been freshly cut to mimic the original parts thanks to CAD modelling
  • Front cross-member assemblies, front frame, outer sills and floor panels are now available, all of which have been made from mild steel (not fibreglass) and finished in a corrosion resistant coating for longevity.
