The model will be based upon Jaguar’s new Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA) platform and will reportedly have an electric range of up to 770km (WLTP). The model is also expected to use a 100kWh-plus battery.

Following on from the combustion-powered GV70s, Genesis Australia has announced it will bring a facelift to the electrified version.
Due in Australia during the first half of 2025, the Electrified GV70 hasn’t had its price revealed just yet, but will follow the combustion version with mood lighting, new 27-inch widescreen display and new HVAC touch controls.
New 20-inch matte dark grey alloy wheels, fresh Ceres Blue paint work, and a new EV-only Icy Blue/ Glacier White two-tone finish will also feature.
Genesis hasn’t confirmed whether or not the existing electric powertrain will gain any power increases.
The current model uses dual motors to produce 360kW/700Nm and has a battery capacity of 77.4kWh. The model sits on the same platform as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.

The discount offer is available Australia wide until 31 December, 2024.

Ford Escort Mk1 to be reborn, along with iconic Group B-era RS200
The UK’s Boreham Motorworks is set to bring the classic ‘dog-bone’ Mk1 Ford Escort back in a new model continuation in agreement with the Ford Motor Company.
Along with the Escort, Boreham Motorworks will also bring back the RS200, an icon of the Group B Rally era of the 1980s.
Instead of being electric or hybrid, the good news is that a petrol engine and manual transmission will be installed into the Escort.
The UK carmaker has said, “Our heritage guides us, and our future insists upon it. We won’t cancel our heritage; we will evolve it”.
The ‘new’ Escort is set to debut on December 12.
Mazda CX-70 reviewed
Chasing Cars contributor Iain Curry’s written review of the 2025 Mazda CX-70 was published, including his thoughts on the latest CX premium SUV.
Iain found the CX-70 to be luxuriously appointed, had a cavernous boot and impressive handling despite its weight.
However, Iain stated that the CX-70 had a firm ride quality, gets pricey on high-spec grades and the fact that the model is not a proper hybrid.
All in all, Iain concluded that “it’s a charmer. It looks striking, bold and imposing, the cabin luxury is top notch and on the right bit of road is a composed joy to pilot”.
