Smart track logging software can now be installed on the Hyundai i20 N, Hyundai i30 Sedan N and Kona N SUV
Hyundai’s N division has launched an updated version of its Track Maps software that can automatically detect when an owner is using his or her N car on a racetrack in Australia and set lap times.
The map update shows the vehicle’s position on the track as well as logging past lap times.
The update is in addition to the N Performance driving data system that provides g-force metering, acceleration timing and power, torque and boost gauges.
The update is available for Hyundai i20 N, i30 Sedan N and Kona N via the link here. The i30 N hatchback and Fastback models do not support Track Maps at the current time.
Hyundai announced that they would bring Track maps into fruition at the Australian launch of the Hyundai i20 N, so it’s been nine months in the making.
It’s as simple as downloading the software update from the link above onto a USB and then plugging the USB into your Hyundai N car.
Hyundai says there is no need to visit a dealership to install the update, and most importantly, the update is free of charge.
Yes, it is, but only for non-competitive events such as happy laps or driver training, for example.
Hyundai states that the warranty is only covered if “the vehicle is operating in accordance with the owner’s manual and service warranty passport.
“Exclusions apply including racing, rallying, competition or speed/endurance trials and defects caused by or attributable to improper use of vehicle”.
The Korean manufacturer has added several Australian racetracks to its database, including the following:
Queensland
New South Wales
Northern Territory
South Australia
Tasmania
Victoria
Western Australia
