As the name suggests, the Dynamic Black range dresses the exterior of a series of popular A and Q models with dark accents – and packages in a few extras, too
Audi Australia has announced that it will bring a Dynamic Black variant to market for several of its models for a limited time.
Audi has added the option of a Dynamic Black to the A4 sedan and A5 liftback, Q2 and Q3 small SUVs, Q5 midsize SUV and the larger luxury Q7 and Q8 SUVs.
The Dynamic Black variants will cost between $2800 and $6500 more depending on which model is chosen. The Q5 35 TDI, for instance, is $3350 more expensive for the Dynamic Black edition, while the Audi Q8 50 TDI S Dynamic Black costs $6500 more than its standard variant.
The decision to add a stand alone grade focusing on black accents is perhaps of little surprise given that the optional black trim, often referred to as a ‘black pack’, is one of the most selected extras from Audi buyers in Australia who prefer the stealthier look.
Audi Australia says that the Dynamic Black cars “are arriving now”, with interested customers to contact their local Audi dealership.
Dynamic Black is essentially a black-highlight aesthetic option pack available for several Audi models.
Focusing on the large luxury SUVs in the Audi stable, the Audi Q7 and Q8 Dynamic Black edition, owners can opt for this package for non-RS variants.
Starting with the Audi Q7 45 TDI, the Dynamic Black features large 22-inch alloy wheels finished in silver and matte black, along with an extended black exterior package which includes black roof rails, wing mirrors and door sill trim highlights and also black Audi ring badges. Also standard inside is an ambient lighting package.
Stepping up to the Audi Q8 Dynamic Black variants, these cars also receive large 22-inch alloy wheels finished in matte black and silver.
Exterior black highlights include the headlight surrounds, air intakes and Audi rings all finished in black, along with the roof rails, rear diffuser and side folding wing mirrors.
In terms of performance and powertrain, there has been no changes to the existing lineup of engines, meaning that the Q7 45 TDi remains to be powered by a 170kW/500Nm 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine.
The Q8 50 TDI continues to use a 210kW/600Nm 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine, while the Q8 55 TFSI uses a more powerful 250kW/500Nm 3.0-litre petrol V6 engine.
All prices listed are before on-road costs.
