Aussie pricing has been confirmed for Audi’s Porsche’s Macan electric SUV sibling

The Audi Q6 E-Tron midsize SUV – a twin under the skin to the new Porsche Macan electric – has been priced for Australia.

Starting from $115,500 before on-road costs for the entry-grade Performance, the Q6 E-Tron is the first Audi to be based on Volkswagen Group’s PPE (Premium Platform Electric) bespoke EV architecture which was jointly developed with Porsche.

The Q6 E-Tron range will land in Australia early in 2025 with a choice of three grades, also including a mid-spec Q6 E-Tron Quattro for $122,500 and topping out with an SQ6 E-Tron for $151,400.

Crucially for Audi, the Q6 E-Tron – which will compete against premium midsize SUVs like the BMW iX3 and Mercedes Benz EQB – will complete Audi’s electric SUV lineup in Australia, slotting in between the smaller Q4 E-Tron and larger Q8 E-Tron, while sharing similar dimensions with the slightly smaller petrol-powered Q5

The Q6 E-Tron will be available in three grades

A Sportback body style is also slated to join the SUV lineup later in 2025, with all variants powered by the same 100kWh gross battery (94.9kWh useable) and 800-volt architecture which delivers maximum DC charging capacity of 260kW for the Performance and 270kW for the Quattro and SQ6.

Audi claims the Q6 E-Tron can be charged from 10 to 80 percent charge in 21 minutes, however the brand has not yet confirmed WLTP range figures for Australia, with the brand saying that it is currently in discussions to obtain figures specific to the Australian specifications of the Q6 E-Tron.

The Q6 E-Tron will launch with an SUV lineup before a Sportback joins the range late 2025

WLTP range claims quoted for European spec models range between 540 kilometres and 625 kilometres depending on the model and grade.

The entry-grade rear-wheel drive Performance features a single rear-mounted motor, delivering 225kW (240kW with launch control), enough for a 0-100km/h sprint in 6.6 seconds according to Audi.

All grades will feature Audi’s new 10.9-inch passenger touch screen

This grade also features 19-inch alloy wheels, an electric tailgate, Sport front seats with leather appointed upholstery, tri-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel as well as heated front and rear outboard seats, 10-speaker sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and more.

Meanwhile, the more powerful dual-motor Quattro is all-wheel drive and makes for 285kW of power, enough for a claimed 0-100km/h sprint of 5.9 seconds.

As well as more power, the top-range model also adds features like metallic paint, S model styling and matte aluminium features, a panoramic electric sunroof, 21-inch wheels, red brake callipers, Nappa leather sports seats, an augmented reality head-up display, and 16-speaker Bang and Olufsen premium sound system amongst.

The Audi SQ6 E-Tron will top the range
