More power, a new eight-speed transmission and fresh tech comes to the quirky French number
Citroen Australia has confirmed that the facelifted C5 Aircross will be landing locally within the first half of 2023.
Set to be offered in a single, high-spec Sport guise, this updated C5 Aircross joins the recently updated C5 X and C4 in Citroen’s local line-up.
Once in Australia, the C5 Aircross Sport will likely face competition from the Kia Seltos, Toyota Corolla Cross and Hyundai Tucson.
The biggest news for the updated C5 Aircross is its new 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine. This four-cylinder mill is good for 133kW/250Nm, and is paired with an eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Like the pre-facelift model, power is sent exclusively to the front wheels.
On the outside, it gets updated daytime running lights, a new front grille, and redesigned tail lights.
It also gets a black pack as standard now, which includes the 19-inch alloy wheels, a black roof, and matte black roof rails.
Perforated nappa leather seats are now standard in the cabin, as is the blue contrast stitching that can be found across the dash.
The two front seats are also heated and include a massaging function.
As for tech, it gets a new 10-inch infotainment display as well as a wireless phone charging pad.
Citroen Australia mentioned that local pricing and specification would be revealed closer to the launch date.
