Priced at $44,990 driveaway, the Haval H6 Hybrid will introduce electrification to the increasingly popular GWM-Haval line-up
GWM–Haval has revealed details of its first electrified model for the Australian market – the Haval H6 Hybrid – which will sit at the top of the H6 midsize SUV range.
Priced at $44,990 driveaway, this flagship H6 will debut with just one grade, the front-wheel-drive H6 Hybrid Ultra. The first arrivals are expected in the coming weeks.
The H6 Hybrid will provide Haval with a much-needed rival to Toyota’s RAV4 Hybrid which has proved hugely popular but somewhat difficult to acquire due to stock shortages.
The new H6 Hybrid’s powertrain consists of a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine mated to a two-speed 130kW electric drive motor. Combined outputs for the H6 Hybrid are 179kW and 530Nm, which compares favourably to the 160kW of total system power for the front-drive RAV4 Hybrid.
The official combined fuel-consumption figure for the H6 Hybrid is 5.2L/100km, which is half a litre thirstier than a front-drive RAV4 Hybrid’s 4.7L/100km.
Three drive modes are available for the Haval H6 Hybrid including EV, Series Parallel and Regeneration. EV is electric only mode, series parallel is when the electric motor and petrol engine work together and regeneration is all to do with how things like braking can charge the battery.
You will be able to differentiate the Hybrid from the rest of the range thanks to a new front grille, new door trims and rear centre brake lights.
The hybrid model builds on the extensive specification already available on the H6 Ultra including features such as 19-inch alloy wheels, leather seats with six-way adjustability for the driver, heated and ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch colour instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen.
Other standard features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a heads-up display, wireless phone charging, panoramic sunroof and an electric tailgate.
Standard safety features on this hybrid model include autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane change assist and blind spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, rear-cross traffic alert, a 360-degree camera, driver fatigue monitoring and fully automatic parking.
The Haval H6 Hybrid will be covered by the same seven year, unlimited-kilometre warranty as the rest of the GWM range, in addition to five years roadside assistance and five years of capped price servicing.
All prices listed are driveaway.
