Kia has announced pricing for its updated Seltos small SUV that will start from $29,500 before on-road costs
Kia Australia has announced pricing for its updated Seltos small SUV, with prices up around $2000 more than what they were in 2022.
The South Korean manufacturer says it has added distinct design elements and new safety features to the facelifted Seltos for 2023.
Australian pricing for the Seltos now starts at $29,500 before on-road costs for the entry-level S automatic and climbs to $44,900 before on-road costs for the GT-Line automatic with all-wheel drive.
For the premium variants, Kia has now mated its 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission rather than the pre-facelift version’s seven-speed dry dual-clutch unit.
A 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated engine is also available across all trim levels: S, Sport, Sport+ and GT-Line. However, while the 2.0-litre engine is front-wheel drive (FWD), the turbo engine is AWD-only.
The updated Seltos will arrive in Australian dealerships during November 2023.
The Seltos will remain to be powered by a 2.0-litre Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine with outputs of 110kW/180Nm. This engine is only available with a CVT automatic transmission. A manual option is not offered.
The biggest change to powertrain and driveline for the updated Seltos is the use of a new eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
This is mated to the Smartstream 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine and replaces the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission used previously. This engine produces outputs of 130kW/265Nm.
Also new for the 2023 Kia Seltos will be alloy wheels across the range as well as revised exterior styling including.
Inside, dual 10.25-inch displays will be fitted in all variants except the base S. The GT-Line variant will gain a powered driver’s seat and a power tailgate.
Safety features have also been boosted with the addition of speed limit assist, lane-follow assist, rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot collision avoidance now all standard.
A new pluton blue colour has been added, bringing the total number of paint choices to nine. A pair of two-tone paint options will also be available.
The Seltos continues to be covered by a generous seven-year unlimited-kilometre warranty in Australia.
All prices listed are before on-road costs.
