Subaru Australia will launch special editions of its core Forester, Outback and WRX models this year as it celebrates 50 years in Australia
Subaru has launched pricing and specifications of a range of 50th Anniversary special editions and other limited-time variants for the Forester SUV, Outback wagon and WRX sports car on its Australian website.
Special editions will be available this year with specific badging and aesthetic changes for the Outback wagon, Forester midsize SUV and WRX sedan and sportswagon models.
For the Forester, three special editions will be available: the 2.5X AWD Special edition priced from $42,646 driveaway, the 2.5i AWD 50 Years Edition priced at $43,676 driveaway and the 2.5iS AWD 50 Year Edition priced at $51,954.
For reference, the 2.5iS special edition is $525 more than a standard 2.5iS, while the 2.5i special edition is $1030 more expensive than its non-special edition sibling.
Meanwhile, the Outback will be available with one sole special edition: the AWD Touring XT 50 years Edition which has been priced at $62,084 driveaway – an additional $525 over a standard Touring XT AWD.
Lastly, the WRX sedan will also get a 50 Years special edition in both manual and automatic transmission options, priced from $52,669 driveway and $57,044 driveaway respectively.
A sportswagon special edition will also be available, costing from $58,094 driveaway.
The manual special edition will cost an extra $1745, while the CVT automatic version will cost $1785 extra over a similar spec automatic WRX.
It’s understood that the special editions will arrive during the second half of 2023, with order books now open.
On the outside, you’ll be able to tell a special edition thanks to 50 Year badging, and black finishes to the model badges, wheels, grille and mirror caps.
The Outback special edition will be unique in that it will be available in Geyser Blue, a colour which is borrowed from the US-market Wilderness. This colour can’t be had on any other Subaru model in Australia.
The WRX models will feature Ultrasuede seat trim, blue stitching around the interior, crystal black door mirrors, rear spoiler and shark fin antenna, black rear badging and special 50 Year edition badges.
The Forester 2.5i-S 50 Years Edition will feature dark grey 18-inch alloy wheels, black leather interior, black roof rails, front grille, foglight garnishing, front and rear under guards and window sills, as well as crystal black door mirror caps, shark fin antenna and rear garnish. 50 Years Edition badges will also be standard.
