Suzuki will launch its next Swift in Australia starting from $24,490 driveaway
Suzuki Australia has announced local pricing and specifications for its redesigned Swift small car, with the cheapest variant priced under $25K.
Three variants will be offered in Australia, all of which carry a Hybrid naming strategy and will offer mild-hybrid assistance.
The range will open with the Swift Hybrid manual, priced at $24,490 driveaway. That’s $1500 less than the outgoing base Swift GL automatic.
Price of entry for an automatic has jumped by $1000, however.
Pricing for the Swift range will top out at $29,490 driveaway for the flagship Hybrid GLX grade.
The Swift competes with the likes of the Mazda 2, the Toyota Yaris and the Volkswagen Polo.
All Swifts in 2024 will use a mild-hybrid 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 61kW/112Nm and will be available with either a five-speed manual or a CVT automatic.
The engine’s ISG electric motor/generator is said to contribute outputs of 2.3kW and 60Nm, assisting low-speed propulsion. It’s powered by a 12-volt lithium-ion battery.
Suzuki claims the Swift will use 3.8L/100km combined for the manual and 4.0L/100km combined for the CVT automatic.
All Swifts have a 37-litre fuel tank.
Beginning with the base Swift Hybrid, owners will gain the following standard equipment:
The Hybrid Plus grade adds:
The flagship Hybrid GLX adds:
Seven colours will be available from launch, including Flame Orange Metallic and Frontier Blue Pearl.
The 2024 Suzuki Swift has not yet been tested by Australian safety body ANCAP.
As standard, the Swift comes fitted with the following safety features:
