The GR Corolla could live on longer than expected, with more cars coming to the US in 2024
It seems that the new GR Corolla won’t be as limited as Toyota first announced, with more cars set to be produced for the upcoming 2024 model year.
According to Motortrend, roughly 1500 more Circuit edition GR Corollas will head to the US during 2024, however anything past that time frame is still under wraps.
The supply change comes as demand and excitement from American car enthusiasts continues to rise after the market did not receive the GR Yaris when it launched back in 2020.
Australia is only set to receive 700 units of the GTS variant and even fewer Morizo editions (just 25 confirmed) between now and February 2024, however Toyota Australia has not announced a strict cut-off point for its new performance hatch.
The supply change in the US shows Toyota’s willingness to meet demand, with the situation being an encouraging sign that the brand is hoping to produce enough demand to satisfy its buyers.
A similar example can be seen in Australia, as the 725 units promised for Australia is up from the 500 originally promised in 2022.
Standard technical features include a 221kW/370Nm 1.6-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine, a six-speed manual transmission, GR four-wheel-drive system, 18-inch alloy wheels and a unique three-exit exhaust system.
Standard specification inside and out includes LED headlights, heated and leather steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8.0-inch central multimedia touchscreen and an eight-speaker JBL sound system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto is also included.
All prices listed are before on-road costs.
