The limited edition 2017 Volkswagen Touareg Adventure has been launched in Australia. The Adventure is based on the Touareg V6 TDI and Volkswagen Australia says that it is aimed at buyers of the V6 TDI who would like more equipment and want an SUV that “is equally at home in the high street as the high country”.
The 2017 Volkswagen Touareg Adventure is powered by the same 180kW/550Nm 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 and eight-speed automatic as the V6 TDI. Equipment highlights include 19-inch alloy wheels, unique bi-xenon headlamps, Vienna leather upholstery, adaptive cruise control with Autonomous Emergency Braking, a 100-litre fuel tank, adjustable air suspension as well as roof racks.
That is in addition to a healthy standard equipment list, including satellite navigation, keyless entry and start, auto-folding mirrors, Area View 360-degree parking cameras, an alarm, an electric tailgate and dual-zone climate control.
Volkswagen Australia is offering a range of towing and accessory packs for the Touareg Adventure, and the limited edition model is also offered in a special colour, Sand Gold Metallic, in addition to Pure White, Canyon Grey Metallic and Deep Black Pearl.
We’re big fans of the Volkswagen Touareg – it’s an incredibly comfortable, capable and refined cruiser that has more off-road and towing capacity than many cars that it competes with. It also features a slightly dated, but very well appointed interior that offers all-day comfort and with the impressive V6 TDI engine, go anywhere ability. On our roadtrip to Melbourne, it performed faultlessly.
The Touareg Adventure limited edition is priced from $79,990 plus on-road costs, a $5,500 saving compared to the V6 TDI that it’s based on. It appears in Volkswagen dealerships from May.
2017 Volkswagen Touareg pricing (plus on-road costs):
150TDI – $68,990
150TDI Element – $70,990
V6 TDI Adventure Limited Edition – $79,990
V6 TDI – $85,490
V8 TDI R-Line – $116,300
