BMW 1 Series Shadow Edition on sale in Australia

BMW Australia has added extra value to its smallest car with the new 1 Series Shadow Edition. Based on the standard 118i and 125i models, the Shadow Edition adds extra standard equipment at no extra cost, and are available from $39,900 drive away (118i) or $49,900 drive away (125i).

At the same time, BMW has launched a new option package for 1 Series customers wanting more equipment in the form of the Style Plus Package, which costs $2,900. Both the Shadow Line Edition and cars with the Style Plus Package will arrive in dealerships from early 2019.

“The BMW 1 Series remains a wonderful driver’s car in its segment,” said BMW Group Australia CEO, Vikram Pawah.

“These Shadow Editions provide an eye-catching silhouette, with product substance to back up the distinctive appearance.

“The team has worked hard to deliver these stylish vehicles at no additional cost to the consumer,” he said.

Based on the standard equipment on both the 118i and 125i models, the Shadow Edition adds a number of previously optional equipment items, including 18-inch M alloy wheels in either Jet Black or a bi-colour finish, LED lighting, black exterior elements including the grille, headlight inserts, darkened tailights and black chrome tailpipes, deletion of the exterior badging and the M Aerodynamics package.

Inside, an M leather steering wheel, anthracite cloth trim on the 118i or Dakota leather on the 125i, wireless phone charging, a choice of aluminium or high-gloss black interior trim and sports front seats and and anthracite interior headliner – the last two are for the 118i – are added as standard.

BMW Australia is also offering a new Style Plus Package for standard 118i and 125i models, which costs $2,900 and adds Dakota leather on the 118i and a Harman Kardon sound system for the 125i, as well as metallic paint and an electric sunroof.

BMW 1 Series Shadow Editions and the new Style Plus Package are available to order now, and will start hitting BMW dealerships in early 2019.

BMW 1 Series Shadow Edition pricing (drive away):
– 118i Shadow Edition $39,900
– 125i Shadow Edition $49,900

Style Plus Package ($2,900): Dakota leather upholstery (118i only), electric glass sunroof, metallic paint and a Harman Kardon sound system (125i only).
