As the name suggests, the Matrix Edition gains a pair of Matrix LED adaptive headlights over the standard model
Cupra Australia has announced the addition of the Matrix Edition to the Formentor range, which is based on the range-topping VZx model, and is available for purchase from today.
Priced from $65,490 before on-road costs, the Formentor VZx Matrix Edition adds a pair of Matrix LED adaptive headlights, a black leather interior and a set of 19-inch alloy wheels that are unique to this model.
Despite being limited to just 100 units in Australia, it’s likely that the Formentor VZx Matrix Edition will still face competition from the likes of the Audi SQ2, the Volkswagen Tiguan R, and the BMW X2 M35i.
Aside from the addition of the headlights, upholstery and alloy wheels, the Formentor VZx Matrix Edition shares everything else with the regular VZx model.
This means that it’s powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine that makes 228kW/400Nm. This engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, power is sent to all four wheels, and it is able to hit 100km/h in 4.7 seconds.
On the inside it gets a 10.25-inch digital cluster and a 12.0-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity.
A premium Beats audio system, tri-zone climate control, active dampers and a wireless phone charging pad also comes as standard.
The option list for the Formentor VZx Matrix Edition is kept relatively simple with a panoramic sunroof at an extra $2100, matte paint at an extra $2300, and premium metallic paint costing $475.
