A small drop of new Cupra models is now for sale through the Spanish performance brand’s local website
One hundred examples of top-spec Cupra models is now available for order in Australia for July delivery through an online purchasing model.
100 Launch Editions will be available for the first customers through the door. Based on the top-of-the-range VZx variant, the Launch Edition badge will be placed on the Leon, Formentor and Ateca models.
Approximately half of the drop – or 50 cars – are the Formentor midsize SUV, with the remaining half split fairly evenly between the Leon hot hatch and Ateca small SUV.
The Leon Launch Edition will be priced at $67,990 driveaway and will feature a premium metallic Graphene Grey paint job along with a Brembo brake package.
The Formentor Launch Edition gains the same features as the Leon and is priced at $69,990 driveaway.
Finally, the Ateca Launch Edition will be priced identically to the Formentor at $69,990 driveaway. The Ateca will differentiate from the other Launch Editions with a fruity sounding Akrapovic exhaust system and ‘exclusive’ 19-inch machined R Sport alloy wheels finished in black and copper.
To compare, a non-Launch Edition Ateca VZx optioned with the same Akrapovic exhaust will cost $71,940 driveaway – so it’s not a bad idea getting in early and saving a couple thousand dollars.
The rest of the Cupra range will be available to order from June 2022. This includes the Cupra Leon VZ, VZe and VZx, Formentor V, VZ, VZe and VZx, and the Ateca VZx.
Cupra Australia says that by the time these cars arrive in Australia, Cupra will have set up sales agents across New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and the ACT.
A ‘halo’ dealership will be located in the Sydney CBD, with Cupra saying more details surrounding this will be revealed soon!
All prices listed are either before on-road costs or driveaway.
