The Haval H6 GT has arrived down under with two variants and will be priced competitively from $40,990 driveaway
GWM Haval has now launched its H6 GT coupe-SUV in Australia, with the addition to the H6 midsize crossover lineup priced to start at $40,990 driveaway for the front-wheel drive (FWD) variant.
If you are after some all-wheel drive (AWD) action, the GT will also come in four-wheel drive guise, which is priced at $46,490.
Developed on the existing mid-size Haval H6 SUV, the GT range “combines sleek and sporty exterior lines with SUV practicality”.
The H6 GT sits with other midsize SUVs in a highly competitive market, going up against such cars as the
Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, Volkswagen Tiguan and the Toyota RAV4.
GWM Haval have said that the H6 GT could add as many as 400 units a month to the overall sales tally for the brand.
Both variants of the Haval H6 GT are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes outputs of 150KW/320Nm. Connected up to the 2.0-litre unit is a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
Also standard on this engine for the GT is an “active exhaust booster” which creates a sportier engine note, according to GWM Haval. This is likely to be enhanced engine sound via the onboard sound system.
Fuel economy for the Haval H6 GT is a claimed 7.5L/100km for the FWD variant and 8.4L/100km for the AWD variant.
Standard features on the entry level, two-wheel drive variant include 19-inch black alloy wheels, LED headlights, tail lights and front and rear fog lights, roof rails and tyre-pressure monitoring.
Inside the H6 GT, there is a 10.25-inch driving cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, an eight-speaker sound system and front and rear USB charging ports.
Dual-zone climate control, leather steering wheel, comfort-tek eco-leather seats (that are heated in the front and offer eight-way electric adjustment for the driver) and an electric tailgate are also standard.
Stepping up to the four-wheel drive Ultra model, you will gain all-wheel drive modes (normal, eco, sport and snow), Michelin sport tyres, a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen and a head-up display.
A heated leather steering wheel, a four-way electrically adjustable front passenger seat, wireless phone charging, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof and fully automatic parking also find their way into the Ultra.
All GWM Haval vehicles come with a seven-year unlimited kilometre warranty, five years of roadside assist and five years capped price servicing.
The GWM Haval H6 GT is now available through the dealership network.
Safety equipment on the Haval H6 GT is extensive and includes on all variants seven airbags, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian, cyclist and crossroad detection and forward collision warning.
Lane departure warning and lane keep assist, emergency lane keep, traffic sign recognition, lane change assist with blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, intelligent cruise assist, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors and driver drowsiness detection also help make day to day driving safer.
The top-spec H6 GT Utra AWD adds rear cross-traffic alert and fully automatic parking on top of the standard features.
All prices listed are driveaway.
