High-performance sedan gains new styling, tech and chassis upgrades; priced at $52,000 before on road costs
Hyundai Australia has revealed pricing and specifications for its newly facelifted high-performance i30 Sedan N, which brings with it a restyled exterior, chassis upgrades and new tech.
Available only in Premium trim as before, the new i30 Sedan N will be priced at $52,000 before on-road costs, a bump up from the $50,200 for the pre-facelifted model.
The price remains the same regardless of transmission choice for the sedan, which comes with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox as standard, or a six-speed manual as a no-cost option.
Revealed globally earlier last year, the facelift brings with it an updated exterior design in line with the rest of the facelifted i30 Sedan range. It also takes on styling cues from other new Hyundai products such as the new Kona and Sonata.
Similarly to those models, the i30 Sedan N features a new car-wide LED light bar, along with a new grille that Hyundai says is designed to improve engine and brake cooling.
New 19-inch wheels also feature as well as tweaks to the car’s rear design and new black aluminum badging.
Aside from styling updates, Hyundai has detailed a number of chassis changes that include a reinforced engine mount membrane, a new rear suspension insulator, tweaks to the vehicle’s electronically controlled suspension hardware and software, updates to the steering system, and upgrades to the electronic stability control (ESC) software.
There have been no changes to the powertrain, which retains the now familiar 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine delivering 206kW and 392Nm.
Inside, the sedan gains additional tech and features such as intelligent speed limit assist, a revised wireless charger designed to accommodate larger mobiles, and additional USB-C outlets.
Hyundai also says the updated i30 Sedan N is the first N Performance model in Hyundai’s lineup to gain Hyundai’s Bluelink Connected Car Services. This brings with it features such as automatic collision notification, an emergency SOS call function, live traffic updates, remote control of climate and vehicle functions, voice recognition, and live weather information.
Standard features for the i30 Sedan N are detailed below, with new features in bold.
The only additional options available on the i30 Sedan N are a sunroof for an additional $2000 or premium paint for $595.
The i30 Sedan has not undergone an ANCAP crash test in Australia since its current generation went on sale in 2020, so it is currently unrated.
