Prices are up, but the MU-X SUV now gains a new 1.9-litre turbo-diesel engine, just like its D-Max ute sibling
Isuzu Ute Australia has confirmed local pricing and specifications for its 2024 MU-X large SUV lineup, with a new 1.9-litre turbo-diesel engine headlining the changes.
The MU-X will gain the same 1.9-litre engine as found in the D-Max ute, which produces 110kW/350Nm and has a claimed combined fuel economy of 7.4L/100km, or 0.9L/100km more efficient than the existing 3.0-litre 4JJ3 turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine still offered in the range.
The Isuzu MU-Xs fitted with the new 1.9-litre turbo-diesel engine will have a braked towing capacity of 3000kg, down 500kg from the 3.0-litre variants.
The engine will be available only on LS-M 4×2, LS-M 4×4 and LS-U 4×4 variants going forward.
Pricing now starts from $47,400 before on-road costs for the entry-level LS-M 1.9-litre 4×2, and is as high as $67,990 driveaway for the top-spec LS-T 4×4 with 3.0-litre power.
Prices are up between $500 and $2000 depending on the variant.
