The new SUV from Mahindra is set to be one of the cheapest ways to carry seven occupants in Australia
Mahindra Australia has officially announced local pricing and specification for its new XUV700 SUV, which will join the recently launched Scorpio and existing Pikup ute in Australian showrooms.
Dubbed as a “perfect blend of style, technology and power”, Mahindra has priced its new seven-seat SUV at $36,990 driveaway, making its model one of the cheapest seven-seaters in Australia.
In a range consisting of two grades, the flagship AX7L will cost $39,990 driveaway and will feature more features such as a larger 12-speaker sound system and a blind-spot monitor.
Power will come from a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 149kW/380Nm and is mated to a six-speed Aisin automatic transmission. Mahindra says this engine has a combined average fuel economy of 8.3L/100km.
The XUV700 will compete with other seven-seat SUVs in Australia such as the Mitsubishi Outlander ($44,000), the LDV D90 ($38,990) and the Nissan X-Trail ($39,790).
Mahindra’s new SUV will go on sale in Australia in 2023.
