As the latest in Mini’s funky special-edition tradition, the Resolute hatch is once again all about standing out from the crowd
In a long history of special models, the ‘Resolute’ editions of the 2022 Mini line-up is the latest. With bespoke paint and design details, the hatch is available in Cooper specification from $45,800 before on-road costs.
The Resolute edition commands a $7300 premium over an un-optioned Mini Cooper hatch ($38,500 before on-road costs).
Available across all hatch body styles including convertible, three-door, five-door and in tandem with the 135kW electric powertrain in the Mini SE, the Resolute variants will be sold alongside the existing Mini range.
With the addition of the Resolute hatch, Mini Australia has also brought in the Clubman ‘Untold’ wagon and rugged Countryman ‘Untamed’ small SUV.
The Resolute hatches can be identified by their unique Rebel Green paint, Pepper White roof and asymmetric stripe decals.
Additionally, Mini has applied Resolute Bronze details to the side skirts, headlight surrounds and grille while dechroming exterior features for environmental reasons – something Mini promises we’ll see more of in the future.
There are LED headlights on all Resolute grades and the hatch gets eye-catching ‘Union Jack’ LED tail-lights. As standard, the petrol-powered Cooper and Cooper S hatches both wear 18-inch alloy wheels.
The Cooper five-door is powered by a 110kW 1.5-litre turbo-petrol three-cylinder engine, starting at $53,800 (before on-road costs), while the Cooper S Resolute three-door packs a 141kW/280Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine.
Available exclusively in a three-door body style, the Cooper SE Resolute ($63,825 before on-road costs) – offering a 233km WLTP range – gets a single front-mounted electric motor producing 135kW/270Nm and can be distinguished by its 17-inch ‘Electric Collection’ alloy wheels.
Mini allows cabin customisation for the Resolute editions. Standard is black leather upholstery on ‘Lounge’ seats, though gold and white chequered cloth is available at no extra cost.
There are additional lighting details that shine through a laser-etched instrument surround, with gold pinstripe details on the dash materials.
The Resolute’s cabin is garnished by a Nappa leather-appointed steering wheel with the edition’s emblem on one spoke.
Underpinning the sharp touches is Mini’s 8.8-inch touchscreen that features navigation, DAB radio and wireless Apple CarPlay.
All prices listed are before on-road costs.
