The T-Roc CityLife special edition is set to land in September in “significant numbers”
Volkswagen Australia has revealed the T-Roc CityLife special edition, which will serve as the new entry point to the small SUV’s range.
Priced from $35,990 before on-road costs, the T-Roc CityLife is available to order now, with deliveries set to commence from September.
At this price point, not only does the CityLife undercut the existing T-Roc Style, but it will likely face competition from the likes of the Toyota Corolla Cross, Mazda CX-30, and the Kia Seltos.
Beneath the bonnet of the CityLife edition sits the same 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine as the standard T-Roc, which produces 110kW and 250Nm.
This is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and drive is sent to the front wheels exclusively.
On the outside, 17-inch alloy wheels are standard, as are the “reflector style” LED headlights that are exclusive to the CityLife edition.
Moving inside, standard kit includes cloth seats, dual-zone climate control, and an 8.0-inch infotainment screen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity. A wireless phone charger and a leather-wrapped steering wheel is also featured.
Metallic/pearl effect paint serves as the only option available with the T-Roc CityLife, and will set buyers back an additional $700.
On the T-Roc CityLife, Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles director Michal Szaniecki explained that the model should help the brand meet high demand for the small SUV.
“The price of the CityLife is comparable to smaller compact SUVs with fewer features, so we expect this to add significantly to the T-Roc’s market positioning and further increase its segment share,” he said.
