The brand’s largest SUV has just had a big price cut prior to the facelift arriving in Q2
Volkswagen Australia has announced it will significantly discount its current Touareg large SUV before the facelifted lineup arrives around April/ May 2024.
The importer has cut $12,000 off the price of the entire Touareg lineup, with the base 170TDI now sitting at $86,020 driveaway, down from $98,020 driveway.
The mid-spec 210TDI Elegance has now dropped from $117,998 driveaway to $105,998 driveaway, while the current flagship, the Touareg 210TDI R-Line, drops from $127,763 driveaway to $115,763 driveaway.
The news comes just months before Volkswagen launches the facelifted Touareg locally, including the high-performance plug-in hybrid R variant.
Volkswagen has stated that the Touareg is available to take home today following a recent supply boost.
For powertrains, the 170TDI Touaregs use a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine that produces 170kW of power and 500Nm.
A more powerful 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine is fitted for the 210TDI-badged Touaregs that produces 210kW/600Nm.
Both engines are paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and Volkswagen’s all-wheel-drive system.

Volkswagen also includes the brand’s IQ Drive active safety in the lineup, which includes adaptive cruise control, emergency assist, front assist with pedestrian monitoring, side assist with lane change assist, parking assist and front and rear cross traffic alert.
